The moment and slowing down

Infinity Within a Moment

Morning was a door opening gently. Not hurry, but slowness entered. The day was not somewhere to rush towards, but a stretch of time to settle into. Breakfast was not a beginning… but the day's first gentle…

Morning was a door opening gently.
Not hurry, but slowness entered.
The day was not somewhere to rush towards, but a stretch of time to settle into.
Breakfast was not a beginning… but the day's first gentle intention.

Homemade savoury pastries and clove tea
had been placed on the table like a quiet agreement.
The unfinished Inception
was not really an unfinished film…
but the mind's echo within itself.
We were not finishing the film.
We were learning to pause together within the layers of our minds.
Time was not a straight line here.
Sometimes it stopped; sometimes it curved inwards.
And we chose to remain within that curve.

When we went outside, the city did not stay behind.
It simply moved into another layer of meaning.
The lake was a mirror the world had forgotten.
The sky was being born again within it.
The trees were not speaking, but
thinking in different shades of green.
Like a book that had forgotten to turn its pages, the wind
passed quietly between us.

Walking was not about covering distance.
It was another door opening within.
Every step brought us a little closer to silence.

The coffee in the flask was not a hot drink…
but a small piece of a moment taken from time.
As we drank, the world moved further away.
We drew closer to ourselves.

Seagulls were white thoughts falling out of the sky.
Every beat of a wing tried to complete an unfinished hope.
The ducks were the water's way of remembering.
The lake was not a view…
but a quiet presence in which we watched our inner selves.

That white dog…
was not simply a living creature there,
but the wisdom of being there.
It arrived quietly.
It stayed quietly.
And sometimes silence was the truest greeting.
That day, we were not two people walking.
We were two minds remembering that life is not only somewhere to get to.
As we left, time bent for a brief moment.
That moment had no name, no explanation.
Only a feeling.
Some moments cannot be defined.
They find a lifelong place within us.
