Courage and your own path
Believing and Walking

Girlboss…
As you watch, you see not a character but a state of being.
Sophia Amoruso takes the lead.
Messy.
Unconventional.
Someone who does not quite know what she is doing… but never stops.
She falls.
She gets up.
She tries again.
It is not planned.
It is not perfect.
But it is real.
And the story is not entirely fiction, either.
It is a story brought to the screen from Sophia Amoruso’s autobiographical book about her own life.
And after a while, you understand:
This is not only her story.
Because some stories do not stay on the screen.
At some point, they touch your own life.
Three things from this story stayed with me most:
Making your own path.
Walking a road that nobody has mapped out for you.
Sometimes wrong, sometimes incomplete…
But your own.
Not being afraid of failure.
Fearing not the fall, but never trying at all.
Because sometimes every fall is really the beginning of a turn in another direction.
And most importantly:
Asking, ‘Who am I?’
Then, at some point, you realise even that question is not enough.
Because as life moves on, the question changes.
Not ‘Who am I?’…
But ‘What do I really want?’
This is where the screen goes dark.
But the story does not end.
Because it continues in real life.
And one of those stories…
Is mine.
I experience the same ups and downs.
Sometimes I, too, do not quite know what I am doing.
But there is something inside me I cannot silence:
The desire to move forward.
I want to keep walking, even when I cannot quite see the end.
Yet I also want the road I walk to lead to something tangible.
And right here, something strange happens in my mind.
It is as though my life becomes Maslow’s pyramid.
At the bottom…
A quiet but powerful need:
To feel safe.
A bank balance that puts my mind at ease.
To be able to say, ‘Whatever happens, I am still standing.’
One level above…
A home where, when I close the door,
I can say, ‘This is mine.’
A place of my own.
A little higher…
A comfort that makes life easier,
that makes me wake up thinking, ‘I am so glad…’
Then…
Holidays that are not cut short.
More stamps in my passport.
New cities.
New roads.
And at the very top…
That small smile within:
‘Did I really build this life?’
You cannot help asking:
All these dreams…
All this work…
All this effort…
Is it in vain?
The answer is still not clear.
But the feeling is:
This journey is not just about arriving.
It is about becoming.
Still, I am human.
I want to see the rewards of my efforts.
I want what I build to be real.
I want the things I dream of to become part of my life one day.
Perhaps this is exactly where balance lies.
Being able to stay on the journey…
and also to reach something tangible at its end.
Because perhaps life’s greatest reward
is not the place you reach.
Perhaps what really matters is this:
Who you become along the way.
And perhaps one day,
when you look back,
you will realise that the story you thought you were watching
was actually a small rehearsal for your own.
I do not yet know where I am on the road.
But I am walking.
Perhaps that is all I need to know for now.
